Storm Consulting Group was founded in 2009. Alejandro (Alex) Polanco, Principal at SCG, has a 30-year backlog of successful business endeavors in the construction industry. As he witnessed small businesses grow into large ones, he realized there was an immediate need to diversify and find more small businesses to continue competing in the market. Alejandro is a second-generation carpenter and former executive, who partnered with Alex Keith Polanco in his business endeavors. Together, they offer years of knowledge both from schooling, and a “boots on the ground” approach. This allows SCG to give our clients true perspective in the construction industry.
What We Do for Small Businesses
We help develop primarily diversity-owned small businesses. Our end goal is to identify prospective new small businesses. Subsequently, we prepare and educate them to bid, and assist large businesses in meeting their required contract goals. We provide basic business principles that are necessary to win and complete state, local, and federal contracts. In general, we assist in enhancing business profiles by recommending and securing certifications that will give you a better hand at future success. Additionally, if your business is seeking training on estimating, branding, project management, or safety and quality control, we are here for you. All of which are contract requirements.
Furthermore, we strive to work with businesses that have MBE, WBE, SDVOB and 8A certifications. We can assist in recommending agencies to secure these certifications if you do not already have one. In addition, Storm focuses on helping you be able to answer “yes” to the three main questions in our industry: are you signatory with a labor union, do you have a credit line, and do you have bonding? We are here to help you work out the details.
Above all, Storm’s goal is to help you and your business reach its fullest potential. Our business model at the core is to acquire long-term contracts with short-term results.
